Celebrating 2020 and the HMB Family
While 2020 was a difficult year in so many ways, we are counting blessings. We've welcomed new children and grandchildren and celebrated weddings. Like many of you, Team HMB worked hard to stay connected. As 2020 draws to a close and we look forward to 2021, HMB wishes everyone a happy holiday and a joyful new year!
Connecting Clients
We take pride in our drive to provide a better experience for our clients and are committed to being a resource in every matter. By leveraging our network through the Law Firm Alliance, HMB connected clients with counsel worldwide. The LFA enables us to connect clients with outstanding attorneys across the globe and we look forward to continuing our partnership and providing this great resource to our clients in 2021.
The "New Normal"
Zoom meetings, new pets, home offices, social distancing, virtual 5ks – what an adjustment! Along the way, Team HMB picked up a few new skills and appreciated some old ones, like baking, gardening and enjoying the outdoors.
New Faces & Promotions
Despite the distance, team HMB continued to build and grow! This year we added Elysa J. Chew, Alicia A. Handy, Marla M. Izbicky, Sarah M. Roscioli, Tara Reedy Sliva, Loan K. Tran and Michael L. Whitchurch to our expanding Litigation, Bankruptcy, Business & Finance, Technology and Intellectual Property practices. We are excited to announce that Robert J. Schaul was elevated to partner this year and Brett M. Winterstein and Christopher T. Lutz became Group Heads. We also welcomed Dylan M. Warren and Nicholas J. Cichon as paralegals. We're thrilled to have such an amazing team and are looking forward to working with them in 2021 and beyond.
Community
In 2020, HMB partnered with many incredible organizations including Bethesda, Chicago Bar Foundation, Facing Forward to End Homelessness, Fight Colorectal Cancer, Greg’s Path Forward Foundation, Habitat for Humanity Chicago's Women Build, Jewish Council on Urban Affairs, Jewish Council for Youth Services, Landmarks Illinois, Meals on Wheels Chicago, My Block, My Hood, My City, Northmoor Education Foundation and Picosa, to name a few! HMB team members served as board members, donors and as volunteers to support these organizations and we're eager to see their good deeds carry into 2021!
