David is a member of the firm’s State and Local Tax (SALT) Group. He concentrates his practice on litigating state and local tax controversies for Fortune 500 companies on matters across the country. David also counsels companies on tax planning matters with a heavy emphasis on equipment leasing issues.
Representing clients nationwide, David advises businesses on transactions that create optimal tax structures and mitigate risks that arise from multistate operations and disparate compliance requirements. David’s unique background combines in-house and government experience, which offers his clients deeper perspectives on the potential risks related to government administration. Whether it’s tax planning for operations in a new state or mitigating tax controversy, clients turn to David for his informed counsel and unique insight.
Tim S. Rybicki
Tim is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Group. He focuses his practice on buying, selling, leasing and financing commercial real estate.
Representing a wide range of industries in the Chicago and national real estate markets, Tim’s clients range from buyers, developers, borrowers and landlords to sellers, investors, lenders and tenants; from privately-held companies to individual entrepreneurs. Clients appreciate that Tim anticipates their needs so they can concentrate on the big picture with confidence their goals are being met proactively. He understands each transaction is unique and focuses on details and timelines to anticipate problems, avoid unwanted risk and ensure deals are not unnecessarily complicated.
New Practice Chairs
We are also excited to announce that John W. Guzzardo will lead the firm’s Litigation Group, taking over for Rick S. Rein. As a practice group leader, John will oversee coaching, planning, economic oversight, positioning and recruitment for their groups. Practice group leadership transitions are part of HMB’s planning and leadership strategy, designed to provide opportunities for different individuals at the firm to serve in leadership roles. We are excited to see his great work continue and are grateful for the strong foundation set by and Rick.
