HMB is excited to announce the appointment of David S. Ruskin to the Board of Directors for the International Cannabis Bar Association (INCBA). David was elected for his wealth of experience and exceptional accomplishments in cannabis law.
Originally founded in 2015 as the National Cannabis Bar Association, INCBA is an international community where cannabis lawyers work together to improve the industry by providing educational programs and substantial resources, promoting ethical standards and advocating change to facilitate robust and excellent legal representation for cannabis market participants. The Board of Directors is nominated and elected by the INCBA membership and represents a diverse set of attorneys from a myriad of substantive legal backgrounds that help shape the future of INCBA.
David leads HMB’s Cannabis practice and counsels entrepreneurs, investors and business owners to help achieve their goals in the industry. Having worked with cannabis companies for nearly a decade, David’s cannabis practice touches every part of the industry. He represents national and expanding brands, licensed retailers, cultivators and processors and delivery services. He also advises non-plant touching and start-up companies as they look to grow in the evolving industry, and he helps both investors and companies seeking capital create the appropriate agreement to accomplish their goals.
David is well-known and active in the cannabis community. In addition to being a contributing member of INCBA’s Ethics Committee, David is a frequent contributor to the Practical Law The Journal on cannabis-related topics, a mentor for the Illinois Women in Cannabis Mentorship Program and a panelist at various cannabis industry events throughout the year.
