Jordan Goodman teams up with BDO USA's SALT practice to offer a webinar discussing recent changes to Illinois unclaimed property law.

With tax reform and Wayfair in the mainstream, new Illinois unclaimed property laws and compliance requirements may be overlooked.

Illinois has stepped out as one of the initial adopters of ULC RUUPA with certain modifications. The new law, which became effective January 1, 2018, makes various changes to Illinois unclaimed property law including (a) record retention, (b) SOL, (c) elimination of B2B exemptions, (d) 8 year transitional provision, (e) dormancy period changes, among others. Regulations are currently pending before the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules in which the Illinois State Treasurer Office also includes a VDA program for holders.
